Not yet sailing along ... hummm!
By

It seems impossible ... but not when I gaze into the magic mirror in my lavatory ... that another year has passed and a new one presents a bouquet of who knows what scenarios to each of us. But, I guess that is our humanity - we take what we get and either deal or grumble - smile as best we can however hard it may be, or forever glower in a sea of misery. So - with that alternative presenting no savor of happiness let us try and have a Happy New Year!

Travel, worldwide, has seen the shifting sands of change and turmoil over the recent past. But the restless travelers that cannot stay far from the view of new horizons are renewing their love daily with quests for yonder and beyond ... and next.

I am no exception - I often wonder how some people can be content to never glance upon springtime's lavender fields in the provençal region of southern France, or watch the haze rise from the gnarly furled green cliffs of Kauai ... but that again is what makes the world a curiosity ... Vive la différence!

The captivation for those who love travel, let along write about travel, is the whisper that says and never ceases to say ... "See this, come on, what does the next bend of the road reveal, or what magic does the next ocean sunset hold for us to gaze upon ... will we see that mystical green-spark as the sun sinks below the sea's horizon?"

And being no exception to that temptress siren call I have read some of your articles dealing with Windjammer's barefoot sailing, and those days of salty sea air and full-breasted sails are not just tugging at my wanderlust, but pulling me into thier tempting snare.

I will, therefore, work toward that goal of feeling the sea breezes fill sails full of adventure as ropes are tied about
riggings ... somewhere, sometime, hopefully soon in some emerald sea ... you know ... just beyond. I can close my eyes and imagine a dignified vessel yaw to the will of the wind on her adventures from one pink-sandy cove to the next coral-laden lagoon.

(Pictured to the right is my winter-time wish-list ship the Windjammer Legacy, which I keep above my desk now!) ... and, those of you that have written so eloquently about your sailing days have done this to me! So, you have crafted your job well ... now I must work to find my days at sea with full sails unfurled!

Come now and enjoy a bountiful edition of Travelworld with more writers that you do not hear from as often, and some you know and love. We are proud of the glowing reputation we are gaining as a prestigious outlet for our ever-improving travel magazine and our diverse writer base!
